Numerous walks are ideal for outings with children. Guided tours with interesting facts about nature and the region in a child-friendly way are a special experience. As a rule, you need to register in advance, because guided walks can only be attended by a certain number of participants or only take place if there is enough interest.

Not only teenagers, but also adults can learn a lot on excursions and ask questions as they please. Along the way there are often games for children or the walks have a specific theme so that the trip is varied and fun for the little ones. Children from the age of seven can explore nature on this exciting family excursion to the border of the Zernez GR National Park. Alongside her job as a kindergarten teacher, Stefanie Maduz offers guided hikes in Elm GL and the surrounding mountains. Their website has a wide variety of excursions and themed walks, not only for adults but also for children. These include, for example, the “Ab id Höchi” tour for children, where they hike along the Höhenweg to the Ämpächli Elm. Along the way, children learn a lot about local flora and fauna and how to treat nature with respect. They are also free to develop, play and ask questions along the way.

The BirdLife nature center is located on the edge of the La Sauge, Fanel and Cudrefin nature reserves, between the cantons of Bern and Vaud. The three-hour goat walk at Schattdorf UR by VisitLocals is ideal for animal-loving families. The goats roam free, and some even carry a saddlebag of quality local produce for an included picnic. Which route to choose in Haldi for hiking depends on the participants. On the way you will learn interesting facts about the goats and the area. This introductory tour takes place all year round in Muotatal SZ on the first 700 meters of Hölloch, which has steps and paths and is easy to walk on. Short public tours for individuals and families run on various dates and take approximately two hours. Larger groups can make a reservation for the desired date. A guide gives children and adults exciting information about the formation of the cave and they learn a lot about caving and the history of Hölloch.

Children and adults can learn a lot about the natural environment of the forest during a guided forest experience of conifers at Aargau Jura Park. The differences between pine, fir, spruce and larch are explained and tealights can be made from wood for the home. The trip will take place on two dates this season (27 May and 26 August 2023) at nine o’clock in the morning. The trip takes a total of three and a half hours, three quarters of which is spent walking. You can still barbecue at noon, as the walk ends at a barbecue area.
