‘I haven’t seen any of these’: Quentin Tarantino slams Ryan Reynolds’ Netflix movies

It is known that director Quentin Tarantino (“Pulp Fiction”, “Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood”) likes to talk about his work and the work of his Hollywood colleagues. Tarantino doesn’t just make movies, he loves cinema and everything that goes with it. And there’s no question that he’s shaped the industry over the decades and brought projects to the screen that won’t soon be forgotten. So it’s definitely very interesting what he has to say – and he says quite a lot these days.

A few days ago, he not only revealed which film will be his last and when we will see it, but also gave the “James Bond” creators* tips on how to move forward with the franchise in the coming years, which he believes will be the best movie of all time and from which sci-fi masterpiece the Star Wars series copies. In a recent conversation with he’s currently firing at the streaming movie industry again – and this time it gets really personal!

Tarantino criticizes Reyn Reynolds’ Netflix movies

“I mean, I don’t want to offend anyone, but Ryan Reynolds makes $50 million for Netflix on one movie, $50 million on the other movie, and $50 million on the next movie. I don’t know what kind of movies these are. I haven’t seen them,” Tarantino sneered, making his way through Reynolds, who has a four-year contract with Netflix. The collaboration resulted in the films “6 Underground”, “The Adam Project” and “Red Notice” – three of the streaming giant’s most successful movies by the way.

Tarantino lacks one thing in particular in these films: zeitgeist. As he explains, “These movies don’t exist in the zeitgeist. It’s like they don’t even exist”. He even goes so far as to state that streaming movies is a reason for the end of his own career in the film world. However, he announced many years ago that he wanted to break up after ten movies…

Of course, Tarantino talks about his hatred of streamers for a reason. In the conversation he wanted to explain that he would make his next film with Sony because Sony does not make films for streaming services, but for the cinema. And that is where films with content belong to him.

This will be Tarantino’s new and final movie “The Movie Critic”

Tarantino’s next film, The Movie Critic, is about a real-life film critic who lived and worked in California in the late 1970s. However, this is not a famous critic, but a man who wrote mainstream movie reviews for a porn magazine. In Tarantino’s project, the newspaper will be called The Popstar Pages. Tarantino also has clear ideas about the type of critic: “His reviews were a cross between the early Howard Stern and what Travis Bickle [die Hauptfigur aus „Taxi Driver“] would have written if he had been a film critic”.
