Will there really be time travel in Fast & Furious 11? The director gives a clear answer

With “Fast & Furious 10” aka “Fast X” the grand finale of the series “The Fast And The Furious” was introduced, in which it is still not known exactly whether it is with “Fast 11” or with “Almost 12” In any case, one has to keep rubbing one’s eyes when one remembers that the Lead Foot saga, which started in 2001 as an almost realistic (!) street race rip-off of the undercover classic “Dangerous Surf” with Keanu Reeves in the lead role, launched, now consists of ten parts.

In the meantime, however, nothing is realistic in the franchise. The laws of physics were mercilessly broken from part to part in smoke and mirrors, until finally in “Fast 9” you went into space with a super fast car and the right rocket propulsion. Of course, the question arises how the series would like to surpass this absurd idea: Transformers? dinosaur? Or maybe a journey through time, as the Marvel blockbuster “Avengers: Endgame” attempted four years ago?

Here’s What Louis Leterrier Says About Time Traveling In ‘Fast & Furious’

Since “Fast X” has some parallels with “Avengers: Infinity War”, which we obviously do not want to explore in more detail here for spoiler reasons, it may seem an almost logical conclusion to some that “Fast & Furious 11” (and/or in “Fast & Furious 12”) also takes up the topic of time travel to raise the bar again.Director Louis Leterrier (“The Transporter”), who entered the “Almost” universe as Justin Lin’s replacement and also the following part will stage, now has the subject on the right briefly arrested.

He wasn’t thinking about time travel seriously at all, just using it as an absurd simile, how to top the space stunt from “Fast 9” again – which he apparently doesn’t even want to try: “What could I do? time travel? There’s nothing I could have done greater than that. They went into space, so I thought, ‘Let’s bring it back to Earth.’

So Leterrier’s comment about the higher-faster-further madness of many sequels is pleasantly down-to-earth. Of course, that doesn’t mean that the tenth part of the “Fast” series doesn’t always contain completely exaggerated, thoroughly megalomaniac action sequences. But: For Louis Leterrier it is therefore certain that his ‘Fast’ films will not go into space (again) and that there will be no time travel either.

It will be some time before ‘Fast 11’ hits the cinemas. You can assume that we have Vin Diesel, Brie Larson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Momoa and Co. will see again sometime in 2025. If this concludes the main line of the “Fast” series, the franchise continues to expand. Vin Diesel recently promised more movies in the series:
