Miley Cyrus says goodbye to the (big) stage

In January, Miley Cyrus released her hit “Flowers,” which immediately topped the charts. Shortly afterwards the entire album “Endless Summer Vacation” followed, which also became a great success. Despite this, the singer plans to stop touring with her new songs – maybe never again.

In an interview with British magazine Vogue, the 30-year-old said: “After the last headline arena show I did in 2014, I questioned it and came to the conclusion that I can’t do it.” She emphasized that it wasn’t because she couldn’t tour, but because she didn’t want to: “Singing in front of hundreds of thousands of people isn’t really what I love. There’s no connection and no security,” said the musician.

Miley Cyrus last traveled the world for her Bangerz tour in 2014. But that never seems to have felt so good to her, because, “When you’re in front of 100,000 people, you’re all alone,” says the pop star. In the interview, Miley asks her fans for understanding. She is grateful for her time on stage, but she can no longer live her life for her fans.

It’s unlikely that Miley will say goodbye to music altogether. That’s how she “likes” to perform, just not in front of such a large audience as on tour.
