Salsa singer Rey Ruiz (56) will start a 12-concert tour next Sunday in Atlanta (USA).
The Cuban singer will go on tour United States, Panama, Colombia and Mexico to present his new album “Insuperable”.
Tour organizers said in a statement Monday that the artist, who has released 16 albums during a career that began in 1992 with “Rey Ruiz,” highlighted Ruiz’s appearance at Mexico’s National Auditorium on Aug. 11 as a highlight of the tour.
On “Insuperable”, Rey Ruiz mixes the “big band” style of instrumental jazz with his salsa romantica.
It was produced and mixed by Ruiz himself along with José Aguirre Humberto Gaticain “Insuperable” traditional arrangements were made with tropical touches.
On the album, Ruiz interprets titles like “Love is free”, Ricardo Ceratto (Argentina); “Corazón Corazón”, José Alfredo Jiménez (Mexico), and “Smile”, Nat “King” Cole (United States).
Ruiz will begin his concert tour next Sunday in the American city Atlanta, which will continue through Veracruz (Mexico) on June 3 and Cancun (Mexico) on June 15, 16 and 17, the latter as part of the first Cancun 2023 salsa festival.
The tour continues on June 24 in Chicago (USA), June 30 in Panama City (Panama), July 22 again in Atlanta (USA), Los Angeles (USA) July 29, August 11 at Auditorio Nacional México, September 16 in Popayán (Colombia) and ends November 11 in Miami (USA).
Born in Havana, the singer has been a leading figure in the salsa romántica scene since the early 1990s, after fleeing his country while on tour in the Dominican Republic in 1989 to settle in the United States.
