Thanks to Madame Energie you see the light too!

You already know me from the health blog “Rund um Gsund”, dear users. From now on there’s my two cents on anything to do with energy saving. “Does she actually write about everything without really having a clue about it?” you wonder? The answer is yes. Because just like the subject of health, the subject of energy touches us, ordinary people, every day.

I must now make a confession: When it comes to saving energy, I’ve long been a walking, constantly guilty conscience. And now it gets even thicker. Saving energy is no longer “just” about the environment, but really gets to work. Because we are heading for a situation that Switzerland has almost never seen. Electricity and gas prices can explode, even become so scarce that saving is no longer a recommendation, but an obligation.

Suddenly, every decision I make today, tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow affects not only my children’s future, but mine as well. Rarely has it been so obvious what you could do if you were willing to do it. Shifting responsibility to politicians and business is not enough here. Now I am asked.

Be it heating, appliances or showers – my family and I could do many, many things very, very much better. It’s all a matter of habit. But some habits are easier to change than others. In addition, the changes in my household affect not only me, but also my two teenagers. How will they react if they have to hang out their socks to dry instead of putting them in the dryer, or if their time in the shower is limited? I will keep you informed on this point.

And that’s how it works: In a first blog about a topic, I explain what the current situation in my household looks like. For example, who takes a bath or shower, how often, how long and how warm it is. An energy expert tells me what I can do better. The teens and I are trying it out and I’ll let you know how it went in a follow-up blog. The two teenagers now know, only to a limited extent, what to expect. So it can be fun…

Of course, your mustard is always welcome in the comment columns. Let go, in general, to save energy. Are you interested in the topic? Why not)? What do you think of the call to save energy? And where do you see potential in yourself?
