Christina Aguilera will perform at Pride Week

Singer Christina Aguilera will headline two fundraising concerts in New York as part of Pride Week events, June 19-25, culminating in the much-anticipated parade down Fifth Avenue.

The first presentation of the award-winning interpreter “Genie in a Bottle” for the benefit of the LGBTQIA+ community, there will be Stonewall Day on June 23 at Hudson Yards in Manhattan, and two days later at the Brooklyn Military Terminal.

Stonewall Day, – bears the name legendary New York barepicenter 54 years ago of the internationalization of the defense of the rights of the collective, LGBTQ- is organized by the Pride Live community and will present several women on stage, including the actress and defender of transgender rights, Angélica Ross.

Launched in 2018, Stonewall Day is a national awareness day marking the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Rebellion.

While NYC Pride, which organizes national pride march reported that Aguilera will headline his annual fundraiser party on June 25, which this year will be at a new location on the boardwalk in Brooklyn.

Aguilera, winner of seven Grammy Awards and who has sold more than 75 million world record holder, said she was “excited” to lead the show on Pride Island, as the renovated boardwalk is being called that week.

“I am always ready to celebrate strength and elasticity of all members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies,” the star said.

This year, she was recognized precisely for her history of supporting this community, for which she was recognized with the Advocate for Change award at the GLAAD Media Awards.

In 2021, the pop star received the Music Icon Award at the People’s Choice Awards, followed by the Spirit of Hope Award at the 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards.

This year the Pride Parade will be held under the motto “Strength in solidarity” at a time when there was an increase in attacks on members of this community, expressed by physical violence and legislation that particularly affected LGBTQIA+ youth.
