Fans of “Star Wars” can hardly save themselves from new news and offers. No wonder “Star Wars” day is approaching. Lego is also jumping on the bandwagon, already offering plenty of new sets from the “Star Wars” saga – including an X-Wings from the Ultimate Collector Series.
Lego VIP members can pre-order the legendary X-wing starting today, everyone else will have to wait until “Star Wars” Day on May 4. The UCS-X-Wing costs 239.99 euros to get started. This puts it on par with Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder in terms of price (now only 213.89 euros at Galaxus*) and well below The Mandalorian’s Razor Crest (599.99 euros at Lego*).
Lego X-Wing: Almost 2000 pieces and movable wings
The X-Wing is the first “Star Wars” starship to make it to UCS for the third time. The two predecessor models from 2000 and 2013 are worth almost a small fortune and barely affordable for “Otto Normal buyers”. That’s probably why Lego made a new edition.
The new set comes with more parts than its predecessors. 1949 stones waiting to be shaped by you. The finished X-Wing is 55 centimeters long, 44 centimeters wide and 27 centimeters high. So it’s sized the same way as the UCS’s old X-Wings.
The nameplate, which is attached to the set’s stand, is printed for the first time. There are only four stickers in the set in total. With Lego, that is no longer self-evident these days. There’s also an exclusive Luke Skywalker minifigure with printed arms and legs – another Lego rarity. R2-D2 is of course also at the start.
The X-Wing is intended as a display case or shelf model, but also has movable wings that you can turn from the folded to the X-Wing position with the turning wheel.
The cheaper alternative to the UCS X-Wing
If you want to add a Lego X-wing to your collection, but want to spend significantly less money, Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing Fighter is for you. 36.99 euros on Amazon* worth a closer look. The 31 centimeter long X-wing is aimed more at a younger audience, but also cuts a good figure on the shelf. Speaking of which, there are four figures in the set: Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, General Dodonna, and R2-D2.
