The festival marks 17 years of contribution to culture

Panamanian cellist Isaac Casal, together with other nationally and internationally known musicians, created the Fundación Sinfonia Concertante de Panamá (FUNSINCOPA) in 2008.

Since then, FUNSINCOPA, which executes Alfredo De Saint-Malo International Music Festival (ASMF) and the Children and Youth Philharmonic of Panama (FIJP), has made a great contribution to the culture of the country, as a platform for education, creation, interpretation and appreciation of music.

It has existed for 16 years 201 concerts, and 574 local performers participated and 406 foreign artists.

And countless hours dedicated educational activities for the benefit of the comprehensive training of Panamanian musicians.

As part of the 17th international festival Music by Alfredo De Saint Malo It will honor Eduardo Charpentier de Castro and Eduardo Charpentier Herrera and will take place from June 21 to July 2, 2023.

In this great cultural and artistic exchange, the goal is gathering and influence about 500 artists, children, young people, national and international musicians, during 12 days of concerts at the Balboa Theater, the Anita Villalaz Theater, the National Library of Panama City and the National Library of Boquete.

“World-class international artists and mentors will work and perform side-by-side with the local music community, creating immediate impact and opportunities for professional growth,” said the FUNSINCOPA president.

He added: “This time we will have local and international artists from Australia, Argentina, Germany, Brazil, Costa Rica, Colombia, Chile, Cuba, United States, France, Italy, Uruguay, Poland, Russia and Venezuela.”
