The year 2021 started with a real surprise hit for everyone with a Netflix subscription: “Lupine” delighted Heist fans all over the world and grew into a real phenomenon – not least thanks to the protagonist Omar Sy, who, as in “Dear Friends.” “ took audiences by storm and once again became the ultimate popular figure. The format started with five episodes before five more episodes followed in June. Since then, fans have been waiting for supplies – they’ve finally arrived:
Netflix has now revealed that “Lupine” Part 3 will be released on October 5, 2023 – with more episodes than ever before! Because, as has now been confirmed, the third chapter will contain a total of seven episodes, which will of course be available again exclusively on the streaming platform with the red “N” in just over five months.
Incidentally, the announcement of the start date was preceded by a thoroughly ingenious advertising campaign, reminding the public of what “Lupine” actually stands for (you can forget that after two years): namely for ingenious scams! And so in recent days, huge banners have been hanging in numerous major cities around the world, in preparation for the sequel that will soon be released. The highlight of the case: the “stolen” start date was missing:
With this action, the series has probably aroused the interest of many people who did not contribute to “Lupine” becoming one of the most popular and most watched streaming formats of the year in 2021. So if the French series is suddenly back in the Netflix top 10, it will probably be because many are already preparing for part 3…
This is what awaits you in “Lupine” part 3
Warning, spoilers for “Lupine” part 2 follow.
Netflix released the first trailer for “Lupine” Part 3 in September 2022, which showed the direction the story will take with the new episodes: After the master thief Assane Diop played by Omar Sy finally got revenge on Hubert in the finale of Part 2 Pellegrini (Hervé Pierre), he had no choice but to leave Paris and with it his wife and son. After all, he is still high on the authorities’ wanted list.
But this life doesn’t make Assane happy, not in the long run. So he decides to leave the exile he once chose to be back where he belongs: with his family. But he’s not the only one planning a return…
In addition to Omar Sy as “Lupin”, Ludivine Sagnier as his wife and father of his child Claire and Soufiane Guerrab as detective Youssef Guédira, who uses his knowledge from the “Arséne Lupin” books to hunt down the eponymous crook. The seven new episodes were directed by “Lupin” veteran Ludovic Bernard, Daniel Grou (“Vikings”) and “Hitman” director Xavier Gens, who also recently staged some episodes of the British underworld series “Gangs Of London”.
