It’s been four years since Arnold Schwarzenegger’s last major action role, Terminator: Dark Fate, and it was only a moderately successful reprise of one of his earlier iconic roles. With “Fubar”, Arnie is back with a bang, albeit with a strong comedic streak, which in the context of the plot certainly brings back memories of his cult film “True Lies”.
In his first starring role, Schwarzenegger plays a father who, like his daughter (“Top Gun: Maverick” star Monica Barbaro), secretly works for the CIA without either of them knowing this “little detail” about the other. In the course of a very last mission for the veteran agent, the whole thing comes out – and turns the relationship between the two upside down. And when they team up as a duo on a tricky mission, the chaos is finally perfect…
“Fubar” will launch globally on Netflix on May 25, 2023. The first season, for which “Reacher” creator Nick Santora is responsible as showrunner, consists of eight episodes. You can watch the new trailer for the series in its original English below:
