Fans of the novels of the famous writer Anne Rice can really count themselves lucky: 30 years after “Interview with a Vampire” with Brad Pitt as the leech made the box office ring, the cult film is experiencing a true renaissance – in serial form. The AMC production “Interview With The Vampire” runs on WOW (formerly Sky Ticket) in this country and has been so successful that a second season has already been ordered!
Of course Anne-Rice-Fnas knows that besides vampires there are also witches and the series “Mayfair Witches”. A second season is also in the works for this production. But all good things come in threes and so there is actually a third Rice series from AMC.
New Anne Rice series about the Talamasca organization
As several American trade journals unanimously report, is currently one series “Talamasca”. Developed by AMC to take place in the same universe as Interview With The Vampire and Mayfair Witches. The secret Talamasca organization plays a central role in Anne Rice’s novels, all of which are more or less connected. This is a band that explores the supernatural world and protects mortals from the dark elements of these realms.
In the Rice novels, the Talamasca Order oversees the events of the world of vampires, witches, werewolves, and ghosts. The members of the organization work as detectives and their motto is: “” (“We observe. And we are always there.”) In Rice’s metaphysical world, the order represents a kind of secret network that includes vampires, witches and co. connects and at the same time shields the outside world.
No wonder Dan McDermott, head of AMC, sees huge potential in the new Talamasca series. In this third Rice series, he mainly sees the possibility for various crossovers of the three series mentioned.
Not sure when we’ll see the Talamasca series. Writer and showrunner is John Lee Hancock (“The Blindside”). We haven’t heard anything about the cast yet. If you want to know more about the series adaptation “Interview With The Vampire”, we recommend the following article:
