At 76 years old, Sylvester Stallone has long been one of the veterans of the action movie. The numerous productions on which the cult star is still working make it clear that he is far from suffering from old age. Tulsa King, his very first series recently released exclusively on Paramount+, also returns to the canvas in 2023 with blockbusters Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3 (theater release: May 3) and The Expendables 4 (theater release: September 21). And with “Never Too Old To Die” was now via a next project has already been announced.
The action comedy is part of a so-called first-look deal from Amazon Studios with Sylvester Stallone and his production studio Balboa Productions. including numerous film and series projects in which Stallone will play a wide variety of roles – from producer and lead actor to writer and director. There was even a collaboration with the dark superhero adventure “Samaritan” in 2022: after the film was originally produced for the cinema, it landed worldwide on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming platform:
Founded in 2018 by Stallone, Balboa Productions has previously been involved in Rambo 5: Last Blood, as well as Samaritan, Tulsa King, and Creed 3 – the first film in the Rocky saga for which Sly didn’t step in front of the camera. Here’s What We Know About “Never Too Old To Die”
Crafty fans should watch the movie for one reason in particular: In addition to producing Never Too Old To Die, Stallone will be on camera for the action comedy. And while the title somehow also fits Stallone himself, who even in old age hardly seems to take a break and apparently doesn’t even think about retiring, “Never Too Old To Die” naturally refers more to the actual plot of the film – in which Stallone, who is slowly approaching 80, also fits very well.
At the center of the film is a murder case in a retirement home for former agents and spies. What and who is behind the murder? That’s exactly what one of the Cold War residents and heroes (probably played by Stallone himself) should clarify. Only one thing seems certain: one of his roommates at the pensioner’s boarding house is the perpetrator…
The script is from according to Brian Otting, best known for his short films. It is not known who will direct.
