Canadian Film Showcase

This week marks Canadian Film Day and Panama will be participating in this celebration.

The University Cinema of Panama will join this 2023 commemoration celebration CanFilmDay (Canadian Film Day).

It is an annual event that glorifies and makes known throughout the world the best of Canadian Cinema.

This year, when it reaches its 10th edition, it will include i Panama, in screenings that will take place on Thursday, April 20 and Friday, April 21.

Screenings will be only at 19:00, thanks to the joint coordination between GECU from the University of Panama and the organization Reel Canada, under the auspices of the Embassy of Canada.

Two canadian movies They can be viewed for free during this event, on Thursday the 20th. “CRAZY”, by Jean-Marc Vallée, a film that won awards at the Toronto and Gijon festivals.

In addition, it is a film that won 11 Genie Awards and is about a young man who tries to hide his homosexuality in order to maintain a relationship with his father.

While on Friday, April 21, it will be shown “So much tenderness”by Canadian Colombian director Lina Rodríguez, a different take on the issue of migration, in which a lawyer and environmental activist flees her country after her husband is murdered and rebuilds her life in Toronto with her daughter, but her past seems to threaten her life again.
