THE home cinema TV: 65 inch Philips OLED TV with Ambilight brings the cinema feeling into your home and is cheaper than ever

Last week we showed you a cheap and practical alternative to Philips’ popular Ambilight technology. With smart LEDs on the back of the television, Ambilight creates an incomparable lighting atmosphere and makes the image appear larger. While there are some retrofit alternatives, a Philips TV with built-in Ambilight is still the best solution.

High-end Ambilight TV for an attractive best price

Last Friday, MediaMarkt launched the latest mega sale: the Super Spar sale has exciting TV offers in the lineup. Including the Philips 65OLED837/12, which the 43 percent cheaper and therefore at the lowest price.

Beautiful and smart – the technology of the Philips OLED convinces

When it comes to image quality, the OLED 837 is in the top class and holds up well against main competition from LG and Sony. The image of the Philips TV is even brighter than many other OLED TVs and is therefore particularly suitable for living rooms with a lot of daylight. Only a few top models achieve a higher peak brightness, at a significantly higher price.

The HDR technologies Dolby Vision and HDR10+ further optimize the image by expanding the color spectrum and contrast. Unlike LG and Sony (Dolby Vision only) and Samsung (HDR10+ only), the Philips OLED supports both formats. This way you always get an excellent image, regardless of which streaming provider you enjoy your films or series with.

Philips also convinces in the field of Smart TV. The OLED 837 runs Android TV, which comes with a huge range of streaming apps. In addition, the remote control listens to Alexa and the Google Assistant. Only the nested menus are not an ideal solution – other manufacturers can do better.

Philips 65OLED837/12 – Sounds pretty good

In terms of sound, the Philips cuts a fine figure – not self-evident with integrated TV speakers. A built-in bass speaker on the back provides balanced and full bass, while the other speakers can achieve precise highs.

For best results, the sound should be individually adjusted using the sound adjustments. With a microphone in the remote control, you can analyze the room in which the television is located and have the sound settings adjusted automatically.

Alternative to the Philips OLED 837

If you can do without Ambilight and are looking for a good 65-inch 4K TV, this is it LG OLED B2* the alternative. At MediaMarkt you can currently get it for the low price of 1399 euros. The TV was only cheaper on Black Friday. The LG OLED65B29LA also offers an excellent image with strong colors and contrasts.

However, you have to live with losses in sound and peak brightness. But the equipment with HDMI 2.1, Dolby Vision and gaming features such as variable frame rate (VRR) has expanded, and Controls and smart TV features are among the best on the market.
