“Am I aromantic because I love life even without a relationship?”

I wanted to ask if there are people who know about aromantics? I’m in my mid 30s now, been in a relationship for almost 10 years and I keep meeting great men that I really like, but I never really feel in love. Honestly, not even in my long term relationship. It was fun, but I never felt like it would be bad if I didn’t have the relationship.

This is how I feel right now: I’m dating a guy I really like and I really enjoy spending time with him, but if I imagined he wouldn’t contact me again tomorrow, I wouldn’t mind. I’m never jealous either – and I’ve never had heartbreak. It’s not that I feel like I never want to be in a relationship again, but somehow I really like life without it. Still, I want someone for sex, to cuddle, to do things, etc.

I keep hearing myself say “that the right one is yet to come”, but deep down I have no interest in the right thing and I think that is a stupid statement. Are there other people who feel the same way? In my circle of friends, everyone always falls in love soooo quickly or has been with someone for a long time and can’t imagine being without a partner.

And I just think to myself “Oh dear, I don’t want that”… 🙁
