FILMSTARTS awarded “Scream VI” a 4-star rating, and a look at the Rotten Tomatoes score of 91 percent shows that audiences also love the horror flick from Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The two directors, who along with producer Chad Villella became known as Team Radio Silence, have done a few things well in recent years. Finally, there was the critically acclaimed “Scream 5” by Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillet.
How reported, Team Radio Silence will now realize another horror movie for Universal! However, this is not another “Scream” part, but probably a new edition of a true classic.
Are the makers of “Scream VI” currently working on a “Dracula” movie?
It is not officially known what Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillet are currently working on. However, THR has discovered that the project was previously titled “Dracula’s Daughter” and was taken from the 1936 Universal classic of the same name, which was a sequel to 1931’s “Dracula”. A tip from Universal also reveals that the new Radio Silence project could still be about “Dracula’s Daughter”…
According to the studio, Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillet’s new horror film joins Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man and Adam McKay’s Renfield Dracula film. So these are projects that “show a fresh, new direction in which classic figures can be celebrated in new ways”.
This is a bit reminiscent of the “Dark Universe”, which Universal planned a few years ago, but is no longer officially pursuing. In the monster universe, old monster classics must be brought back to life and the completed films must be connected.
That’s what the “Dracula’s Daughter” reboot is all about
The aforementioned Universal project doesn’t have much to do with the classic “Dracula’s Daughter” anymore. The new edition is about a group of kidnappers who kidnap several young people. One of the kidnapped is Dracula’s titular daughter, who then attacks the kidnappers.
Further details about the project are not yet known. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet’s film also has no release date.
