A series remake of the Harry Potter books is about to get the go-ahead from Warner Bros. Each season of the series is based on one of JK Rowling’s seven books.
According to Bloomberg, Rowling will be involved in the production of the series to ensure the studio stays true to their original material. However, the author will not assume any managerial role – either in writing the screenplays or as a producer.
Nothing is known about the cast or a possible release date.
Warner Bros. has been talking a lot lately about new Harry Potter projects and that they want to expand the universe beyond the Fantastic Beasts series. Speaking at a conference in March, CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels said: “The fact that we’re having such a great success with the launch of ‘Hogwarts Legacy’ 12 years after the last movie came out shows that there are so many possibilities and that we’re just getting to them. to use. “.
All eight films have grossed more than $7.7 billion worldwide. The books have sold more than half a billion copies and have been translated into 80 languages.
