Starting today, March 31, 2023, you can watch both the top comedy sequel “Murder Mystery 2,” starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, and the action hit “Kill Boksoon” on Netflix. We briefly introduce both titles to you…
“Murder Mystery 2”: detective thriller, action and real Sandler comedy?
“Murder Mystery” became one of Netflix’s biggest hits in 2019. The streaming service announced at the time that no movie had been streamed on the platform by so many accounts in three days. It was also announced at the end of the year that it was the most popular title of the entire year – no movie, no series, no comedy special had been watched by so many different accounts.
So a sequel was only logical, which is also worth it for Adam Sandler fans who didn’t like the first part so much. At that point, there was already a finished script, which Netflix then offered Sandler as part of their collaboration and only had it tweaked a bit for him. Bee “Murder mystery 2“ the script was developed with and for him and Jennifer Aniston.
Your characters Nick and Audrey Spitz now run a joint detective agency and soon find themselves in the middle of a dangerous case. Her boyfriend, the Maharaja (Adeel Akhtar), is kidnapped at his own wedding. The trailer makes it clear that the Spitz couple not only gets into absurd situations during the investigation, which quickly overwhelm them, but also have to survive some action scenes. Other cast members include Mark Strong, French superstars Mélanie Laurent and Dany Boon and Jodie Turner-Smith.
“Kill Boksoon”: Action in the footsteps of the “John Wick” series
While we haven’t watched Murder Mystery 2 yet, so can’t comment on its quality, we can tell you “Kill Boxing“ definitely recommend. The Korean action hit immerses us in a world controlled by secret killer organizations, similar to the “John Wick” series. Only here do they appear in the form of agencies that have their assassins under contract.
Gil Boksoon (Jeon Do-yeon) is the best in her field, but considers letting her contract expire to have more time for her daughter. But as so often in the genre, people don’t like to drop out. And if Gil has a twinge of conscience about her last job, she can be shot.
“If John Wick Were A Single Mother…” is our 3.5 star review overwritten. Even if “Kill Boksoon” takes a while to really get going, the combination of heavily choreographed, if highly comedic over-the-top action sequences, and a surprisingly touching mother-daughter relationship in the middle is well worth it.
