A serial killer enters politics to make the laws more killer-friendly! The craziest movie plot of the year?

If Adam McKay announces a new movie, the stars are clamoring to star in it – after all, his last three films alone, “The Big Short,” “Vice,” and “Don’t Look Up,” have earned a total of 17 Oscar nominations. McKay simply has a gift for processing political intrigue with such a sharp satirical touch that the result, while doing justice to the complex subject matter, is still very entertaining.

However, the current political situation in the US is so absurd that you have to work very hard to pull it off in a comedy (after all, even most over-the-top satires aren’t even half as grotesque as what Donald Trump previously pounded on Truth Social). the first cheeseburger on an average Wednesday morning). But the plot of “Average height, average build” really packs a punch…

Robert Pattinson as serial killer

The title refers to a description of the perpetrator that is really of no use to the police – an average everyman, as so many serial killers turn out to be. In “Average height, average build” should “The batter“-Star Robert Pattinson play such a killer who, however, makes an unusual career decision for himself – he wants to get into politics to make sure the laws there become more killer-friendly in the future.

Of course that sounds completely crazy at first – but when you consider all the companies and associations lobbying in Washington DC, why not a serial killer? Also Robert Downey Jr. (“Iron Man”) would be involved in the project, although it is not yet known exactly what role he will play.

It won’t be cheap!

But it’s also clear that if “Average Height, Average Build” went into production, there would probably be many more high-profile names – after all, Adam McKay always works with a broad ensemble of absolute superstars (in “Don’t Look Up” (Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Jonah Hill, Timothée Chalamet, and Ariana Grande, just to name a few).

However, this also means that the films – especially for a satirical comedy – are usually not exactly cheap. “Don’t Look Up” is still the second most successful Netflix film ever (behind “Red Notice”), but it also devoured a relatively proud budget. Therefore, it shouldn’t be easy to land the project with a studio in the current market situation – and eventually another streamer would probably have to step in to fund the film.

However, according to its current status, Netflix does not seem to offer (yet)…
