Rebecca Jones from ‘Cradle of Wolves’ has died at 65

Mexican actress Rebecca Jones died this Wednesday at the age of 65 and after almost 40 years of a career in which she was strengthened by roles in soap operas, films and theater.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved and adored Rebecca Anna Jones Fuentes (May 21, 1957 – March 22, 2023),” her publicist Danna Vázquez said in a statement.

Although the text did not specify what the causes of his deathfrom which the actress originally from Mexico City suffered ovarian cancer in recent years.

“Rebecca was with her the whole time belovedhe left in peace and with deep gratitude to his public, for whom he worked all his life,” added Vázquez’s newsletter.

Jones was the daughter of a Mexican mother and an American father. His family moved to California when she was little, where she studied Dramatics at various institutions, including the University of Southern California.

In 1981, after working as a waitress for a while, Jones returned to Mexico and set out to find artistic possibilities.

Two years later debuted as an actress in the play “The Collector”for which he received several awards, and specialized criticism even declared him the discovery of the year.

His first leading role for television it was in a series “Fallen Angel” (1985).

From that moment on, Jones became one of the the most sought after and appreciated actresses for their realism and interpretive powernot only in cinema and theater, but also in soap operas, where she almost always personified strong and fighting women.

She was married to actor Alejandro Camacho for 25 years, from whom she divorced in 2011.

Between his TV soap operas the most popular were “Fallen Angel” (1985), “Cradle of Wolves” (1986), “Devil’s Smile” (1992), “Crystal Empire” (1994), “Life in the Mirror” (1999), “Land of Women” (2002) and “To love again” (2010).

In recent years, he appeared in series as “The Spoiled Ones” (2017), “House of Flowers” (2020) and “Who killed Sara?” (2022).

In 2021, he accepted the challenge of acting in a soap opera “Do you remember me” Antonija Solís, a a very unusual widow which shows the lives of many women in the world.

“I’ve always tried to do things that amuse me, but you can’t lock yourself into drawing characters. Sometimes by divine law it depends on you what you had to do at the time, I try to learn as an actress, expand my skills and continue in that magical box called television”, he said then in an interview for EFE.

According to the press release, it could happen in the next few days tribute or an event in his honor.
