With “The Last Of Us,” HBO has achieved exactly what has often seemed impossible in the past: an adequate video game adaptation. While Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin removed much of the original’s survival action from the series, the sense of post-apocalyptic America and the unique relationship between Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) were captured quite well.
With the recent airing of The Last Of Us season 1 finale, fans of the series will have to be patient. However, Neil Druckmann via has now released a poster featuring one of the main characters from “The Last Of Us 2” (and, of course, the upcoming adaptation) – Abby. Anyone who’s played the template is sure to get a shiver down their spine when they hear the name – and curiously, in their case, that’s not even exclusively negative.
What’s with Abby?
Abby is one of the main characters in “The Last Of Us 2” and has a special (!) personal relationship with Joel and Ellie. Without going too deep into the background of the character, anyone who has played The Last Of Us 2 will certainly have fond memories of who agonizing emotional roller coaster ride Abby was responsible for the gamblers. This is where “The Last Of Us” must accordingly step in Season 2, not only in terms of ambivalence, but also in the excessive violence that is important to understanding Abby’s character.
It is not yet known who will play Abby in the HBO adaptation. However, it has been confirmed that more than one season will be made of “The Last Of Us 2”. This is due to the content of the games. In comparison, if you only play the main story, you will need about 23 hours. Part 1 was about 12 to 16 hours. Depends on how urgent you were. It is not yet clear how many seasons Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin will ultimately be responsible for. But it is nice that they give the game the necessary framework.
When we can expect “The Last Of Us” season 2 on HBO is also not yet known. Bella Ramsey has one interview but said we can’t expect it until late 2024 or early 2025. Time enough, then, to expose yourself again to the emotional torture of “The Last Of Us 2” on the console.
