Jim Carrey is not proud of this movie at all (here he shows more nudity than ever!)

Jim Carrey has been an actor for over 40 years. He not only made history with comedies like “The Mask”, “Ace Ventura” or “Dumb and Dumber”, but also managed to do well in serious productions like “The Moon Man”, “The Truman Show” or “Forget Me”. “. Not”. It seems almost logical that in all his creative years there were also films that he is not particularly proud of in retrospect.

In 1981, Jim Carrey was part of the cast of All In Good Taste. Released only two years after its completion, the film is about an aspiring director who wants to tell the story of an orphan and his dog. But the investors force him to turn the script into a movie about strippers. A premise that contains a thoroughly funny chaos comedy with meta-potential.

Jim Carrey as a naked cameraman

Jim Carrey’s appearance in the movie, meanwhile, lasts just over a minute – and he doesn’t say a word the entire movie. But he was allowed to show much more of himself here than in his other films. Because Carrey plays one naked cameraman named Ralph. It is even said that the star’s buttocks are more common than his face.

In the end, however, no one crowed after “All In Good Taste” and the film faded into obscurity shortly after its release. Of course, the people behind the project didn’t hesitate to re-release the film once Carrey’s career really took off and he became a star. A poster was designed for this on which Jim Carrey seems to play the leading role. Today’s import DVD also features this cover:

In retrospect, Jim Carrey isn’t particularly proud of the whole thing and would rather not remember the movie. He himself would consider “All In Good Taste” to be “a mistake from his childhood”.

Incidentally, Jim Carrey also regrets another movie he starred in: Kick-Ass 2. The reason for this is not that Carrey thinks the comedy adaptation failed, but that the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting changed his view of images of violence has changed. Carrey just isn’t comfortable with the brutality of a “Kick-Ass 2” anymore.
