Stars From “Game Of Thrones”, “James Bond” & “Star Wars”: Cast For Amazon’s “The Rings Of Power” Season 2 Is Growing!

So if these aren’t actors who know their way around big, successful franchises, then we don’t either. For the second season of the fantasy series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”, Amazon has just confirmed three new arrivals – and these are Ciaran Hinds from “Game of Thrones”, Tania Moodie from “Star Wars – Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker” and Rory Kinnear from the James Bond movies starring Daniel Craig.

According to the official press release, all three will be seen in recurring roles, so they should be part of the main cast in season 2. The downer with this news: it has not yet been revealed which roles the stars will slip into. So the speculation in the fan forums can begin…

These are Ciarán Hinds, Tanya Moodie and Rory Kinnear

Ciarán Hinds played Mance Rayder, the ‘King Beyond the Wall’ in Game Of Thrones, leader of the fantasy class, was nominated for an Oscar for his supporting role in Kenneth Branagh’s ‘Belfast’ and voiced villain Steppenwolf in DC actor ‘Justice League ‘. name just a few of his many and varied roles.

Tanya Moodie played General Parnadee in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, had roles in shows like The Man Who Fell To Earth and Motherland, and will hit theaters April 20, 2023 in Sam Mendes’ Empire Of Light. .

And Rory Kinnear is guaranteed to be familiar to Bond fans as Mrs. Assistant Bill Tanner in the recent James Bond movies – most recently, he played the part in James Bond 007: No Time To Die. In series territory, he was on camera alongside Taika Waititi for the pirate satire “Our Flag Means Death” and as Frankenstein’s monster for the horror highlight “Penny Dreadful.” He also starred in Alex Garland’s disturbing parable Men, which will premiere at Cannes in 2022.

Long wait for season 2 of The Rings of Power

So strong new cast members, but we will have to be patient for more concrete information about season 2 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. After the extensive shooting, the lengthy post-production of the high-impact fantasy series follows, so that the start can be expected in 2024 at the earliest. Until then, you can rewatch all eight episodes from the first season on Amazon Prime Video.

And new episodes of The Rings of Power aren’t the only thing Lord of the Rings fans can look forward to in the years to come. Being completely independent of the Amazon series of new live-action films from Warner Bros. are now in the works – and at least Peter Jackson hasn’t yet ruled out being involved in some capacity.
