Not good news for someone with a fear of heights: the sequel to the survival thriller is coming – because Netflix made ‘Fall’ a surprise hit

You don’t know “Fall – Fear Reaches New Heights” yet. Then you’ve missed out – unless you have a fear of heights like the author of these lines, in which case you may have rightly avoided Scott Mann’s thriller. In our FILMSTARTS review the survival thriller reportedly causes “a high heartbeat and sweaty hands”. Since the end of 2022 it has been possible to get your own impression of this in the home cinema.

While in Germany “Fall” was released on DVD, Blu-ray and as purchase or rental VoD, Mann’s thriller made its way to the Netflix streaming service in some countries – and really took off there. In Britain, where ‘Fall’ first hit theaters, it is currently the second most watched film on Netflix behind ‘Luther: The Fallen Sun’. After the thriller, which was produced for only five million dollars, with its small theatrical releases in North America and some other countries also brought in about four times its budget, Netflix’s success is now the overriding reason to tackle a sequel .

The manufacturers have announced this to the industry magazine that they are currently discussing the sequel with director Scott Mann. According to manufacturer James Harris There are already some ideas, but he also urges caution not to rush the sequel. They “don’t want to make something that feels like a pure copy or offers less than the first part”.

Nevertheless, the plan is to progress the project in the course of 2023. A return of lead actress Grace Caroline Currey, who also currently stars in Shazam! Fury Of The Gods” in the cinemas is possible, but no decision has been made yet. The only thing that is certain is that “Fall 2” would also play at dizzying heights and there is about a struggle for survival.

This is “Autumn – Fear Reaches New Heights”

Because that’s what Fall – Fear Reaches New Heights is all about. In the survival thriller, two friends are trapped on a 600 meter high TV tower in the middle of the desert on a platform that is only a few square meters in size. The ladder has fallen down. There seems to be no chance of coming back down.
