Eight seasons, 125 episodes, eight Emmys and loads of crimes solved, private investigator Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub) looks back on a long, successful and rather nerve-racking career as a detective and has fans all over the world. In 2002, the series “Monk” was launched and featured extraordinary criminal cases and a rather neurotic detective who actually always achieved his goal with unconventional measures.
In 2009, the last episode of “Monk” came to the screens. The neurotic detective, plagued by phobias and obsessive-compulsive disorder, clarified in episode 125 who killed his wife (his biggest and most important case), breaking a record. Never before have so many people in the United States watched a final on television at the same time. So it’s no wonder Monk didn’t actually retire after that…
Tony Shalhoub himself talked in an interview in the Webshow Unheard Stories reveals that he is currently working on a 90 minute “Monk” feature film for a streamer. Shortly afterwards, this statement was confirmed by broadcaster Peacock and supplemented with further details. So for the feature film “Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie returns the cast of the original series and behind the camera is the well-known “Monk” crew.
“Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie”: That’s what it’s all about
After Adrian Monk solves the murder of his wife Trudy, he has to turn himself into “Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie” again to a personal case. This time it’s about his beloved stepdaughter Molly, who wants to get married and in the problems come.
More details about the plot of the feature film “Monk” are not yet known. There is also no start date set. However, it is certain that “Mr. Monk’s Last Case” will run in the US on streaming service Peacock, where all eight seasons of “Monk” can currently be seen. It is unclear where the revival will be seen in this country, as Peacock does not exist in Germany. The “Monk” seasons are currently nowhere to be found as part of a subscription – but of course all episodes can be purchased.
