A week ago, we reported that “Avatar: The Way Of Water” will premiere in home theaters on March 26 in the US. At that time, however, it was still unclear whether the announcement also referred to the German start. Now we know: we have to be patient for a few more days. Yet it is soon so far:

You can stream the second Pandora adventure in three weeks from today on Amazon Prime Video, among others. This sets Disney’s strategy for James Cameron’s latest mega blockbuster apart from the other major mouse house productions. Because while Marvel blockbusters like “Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness” and “Thor: Love And Thunder” landed on Disney+’s own streaming platform just a few weeks after theatrical release, “The Way Of Water” is now going video-gone-on-demand .
It is not yet known when the film will eventually appear on Disney +. After it was already known that the digital release will not only consist of the film itself, but also more than three (!) Hours of unreleased bonus material, those extras have now been revealed.

“Pandora’s box is about to be opened,” says the official press release, which details the additional content that awaits us early next month.

By the way, the film, which as expected won the Oscar for best visual effects, can still be seen in many cinemas. And we recommend: if you still have the chance, grab it. Because even if “Avatar 2” will certainly breathe a little Pandora into your home cinema: the cinema experience can only be recreated at home to a certain extent.
