University cinema: Billboard for the month of March

Continuing the celebration of 45 years of cultural work, the University Cinema continues with an attractive billboard for the public.

During this month of March, the program will begin with two small tributes to the recently deceased Carlos Saura, one of the greatest directors of Spanish cinema, and to the famous American actress, Raquel Welch.

This Tuesday, March 7, at 3:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., they will present “Cría cuervos” (Spain) and “Myra Breckinridge” (United States).

From Wednesday 8 to Friday 10 March it will be offered Quebec Film Festival: Greetings to the Month of Francophonie.

It will present three feature films and eight short films by Canadian auteurs from that French-speaking province.

Since March is the month in which International Women’s Day is celebrated, supporting this celebration and in cooperation with the Women’s Institute of the University of Panama, a cycle with films devoted to different approaches and realities related to that topic, conducted in Colombia, Lebanon, Romania, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

This sample for International Women’s Day, It will take place from Monday 13th to Friday 17th March.

While from Monday 20 to Friday 24 March, Vice President of Extension of the University of Panama The sixth edition of the International Summer School will be held, an important academic and cultural gathering where the University of Havana will be a special guest, which is why the University Cinema organized the Cuban Film Festival.

This sample will consist of five excellent films directors of the Caribbean island.

In order to complete the cycle of this third month of the year, they will do so with “Crime in the movies” with films from the United States, Turkey, Iran, Germany and Venezuela, from the archives of the Center for Image and Sound, from Monday March 27 to Friday March 31.
