For ten years, “Lord of the Rings” fans had to wait for a truly new set of Lego from the world of JRR Tolkien. Now the Danish clamp block manufacturer is unpacking and presenting a giant kit containing the set “The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell”.
The new set contains no less than 6167 parts, which is 75 centimeters wide, 50 centimeters deep and 39 centimeters high and contains 15 minifigures. For LEGO VIP members, Rivendell will be available in the LEGO Store from March 5, with free sales starting March 8.
The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell costs $499.99.
“The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell” – That’s why the new Lego set is worth the money
Of course, almost 500 euros is a lot of money. But you also get something for it, because Lego has once again put a lot of effort into making an impressive set, after many fans were quite disappointed with the Hulkbuster and Black Panther bust recently.
The Danish toy giant apparently took the criticism to heart. Bruchtal convinces with many details, varied construction techniques and many printed parts (the roof once excluded). For example, every tile in Elrond’s house has a print.
The set allows you to recreate various scenes from the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. There’s the Council of Elrond, the bridge over Bruinen Falls, the Elven Forge, Elrond’s house, Bilbo’s chamber, and the bedroom where Frodo awakens after attacking Weathertop. The 15 minifigures contain many main characters from the movie trilogy:
- Frodo
- Bilbo
- Boromir
- Elrond
- Arwen
- aragorn
- gimli
- Merri
- Pippin
- Gandalf the Gray
- Sam
- Legolas
- Glow
- two elves
It is worth noting that the figures differ significantly from their predecessors from previous LEGO sets. Here, the terminal strip manufacturer has not only used old templates, but has changed a lot in the design. The set is therefore also worthwhile for minifigure collectors.
In addition, the set scores with many details that film fans should immediately notice. The Blade Narsil is on display, as is Andúril, the One Ring, the Mithril Shirt, Lembas Bread, Frodo’s weapon Sting, and even Bilbo’s ‘evil’ face as he reaches for the Ring. There are also images of Númenor on the walls of Rivendell.
In short, with the set “Lord of the Rings: Rivendell” you finally get a great, lovingly designed kit, which falls within the price range. For comparison: the Razor Crest from “The Mandalorian” costs 100 euros more, the weak Hulkbuster 50 euros more. So if you’ve got the spare change and plenty of shelf space, Lego’s Rivendell is worth a look.
