“Shelter – Prisoners of Fear”: that’s the story
A disaster alarm goes off in a small town. The reason for this would be a tornado heading straight for the village. The married couple Robert (Pat Healy) and Diane (Vinessa Shaw) and their children barricaded themselves in the fortunately spacious bathroom of their house on the official recommendations.
While teenage daughter Melissa (Sierra McCormick) desperately tries to use her smartphone to reach someone who seems very important to her, the much younger Bobby (John James Cronin) finds comfort in his mother’s arms. Since the parents assumed the ghost wouldn’t last more than two hours, they didn’t take any food into the windowless room.
A mistake, as it soon turns out. Because after a while a large tree falls through the roof of the house and blocks the solid oak bathroom door from the outside. Tensions and fears spread among those trapped. In the process, suspicions arise that maybe not a terrible storm is raging, but something much worse…
Ozzy Osbourne in “Shelter: Prisoners of Fear”
“Land Grab” director Sean King O’Grady took on the staging of the tear, which already seemed quite intense in the trailer. Most recently, O’Grady served as an executive producer on The Assistant. Shelter is based on the novella We Need To Do Something by Max Booth III, who also wrote the screenplay.
It stars Sierra McCormick from the featured Amazon Prime original The Great Night, Pat Healey from Better Call Saul season 6 and Vinessa Shaw (Side Effects, Cold In July). Also present: John James Cronin (“Manhattan Queen”) and “Legacy of Montezuma” star Lisette Alexis. Heavy metal ancestor and Black Sabbath legend Ozzy Osbourne can also be heard in the English-language original with a voice rendition that is spectacular according to various reviews.
Finally, the following trailer in English offers scene clips that differ in part from the German preview:
