Ameth Valencia: the face behind ‘Atrapando Libros PTY’

Panamanian Ameth Valencia is a systems engineer and passionate book lover, a love that led him to create “Atrapando Libros PTY”, an initiative to share the book experience in a fun way.

Valencia has been reading since he was 9 years old and it is almost impossible to count the titles he has read. So many books helped him learn about other realities, “in the same way they constantly helped me get to know Ameth as I am now, learning never stops when you’re a reader.”

“I have always believed that tasting is different literary types I found different ways to see and feel myself,” he says exclusively to Panama America.

“Capturing PTY Books”

In 2014, he had the idea to create “Catching books PTY“, and in 2015 he created a Facebook page where he shared his experiences with books and some literary events he went to. In 2017, it was expanded to Instagram and developed to what it is today.

The aim of “Atrapando Libros PTY” (@atrapandolibrospty) is to publish your experiences with books. “I think that’s still the main goal, but now after many years of reading I realize that books help save lives, I’m a survivor and now I’m trying to continue the legacy of democratizing literature,” he said. he says.

He adds: “To know that books are more than subjects for language improvement and travel to other places. Books are a tool social transformation with which we can empathize with other realities, but also identify with and find ourselves. I believe, or want to believe, that part of the passion I have has permeated others.”

He hopes that in a few years, “Atrapando Libros PTY” will continue to be “the literary fantasy that I like to offer, but I would like to transfer it to other formats podcast or the radioa dream I’ve always had.”
