Shakira and Karol G: Their song ‘TQG’ is trending

Colombian singers Shakira and Karol G released this Friday a song called “TQG” (“You were big”), in the text of which their followers see new allusions to their former partners, former Spanish soccer player Gerardo Piqué and Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA, respectively.

“You, who go out to seek food; and I, thinking that it is monotonyShakira says in the song.

He also assures: “It hurt me to see you with a new one, but I’m ready for mine / I forgot what we lived through, it offended you”, a letter that is understood on social networks as a direct allusion to Piqué, who became a source of inspiration for his latest songs after a sentimental breakup.

The topic has become a trend and has already achieved 1.5 million views in the first two hours of its publication.

It is the first collaboration between two artists on the occasion of the release of a new album Carol G.“Mañana ser bonito”, the fourth album since he started his recording career in 2017, with “Unstoppable”.

Karol G (Medellín, 1991) has already released a message for Anuel AA in his song “MAMII”, a duet with singer BeckyG, for which he just won the Lo Nuestro award for Urban Song of the Year at a gala held in Miami (United States) .

This is one of the four awards that the Colombian won, including the most important trophy, Artist of the Year, along with Female Artist of the Year – Urban and Song of the Year.

Shakira (Barranquilla, 1977) also won three other awards as Pop Artist of the Year, Pop collaboration of the year and song of the year – urban pop for “Te felicito” with Puerto Rican Rau Alejandro, the first of this trilogy of songs dedicated to his former partner, Gerard Piqué.

This launch comes after the huge media buzz generated by the magazine’s previous issue Shakira, session #53 with Argentinian producer Bizarrap who in just two weeks has gathered almost 162 million views on platforms like Spotify.
