In an interview with the film magazine “Avatar” producer Jon Landau spoke mainly about the fact that the huge Tulkun Payakan also plays a major role in “Avatar 3”. After all, you don’t just see the cetacean creature as a creature, but he’s an important character about whom you want to tell a lot more – including his friendship with Lo’ak (Britain Dalton).
But Landau revealed that Payakan’s great adversary also returns in “Avatar 2: The Way Of Water”. Than we will see Tulkun fighter Mick Scoresby again (Brendan Cowell) to see. At first glance, this naturally raises a few eyebrows.
Return of Scoresby as an avatar?
Finally, in Avatar 2: The Way Of Water, Scoresby appears to die brutally. In the big final battle, he loses his arm fighting Payakan, who flies off in a high arc (which was applauded by many cinema screenings). But you don’t see his final death. So far it has only been assumed that he then bled to death in the water in which he flies.
But maybe he survived and continues his hunt in “Avatar 3”. Moreover, “Avatar 2: The Way Of Water” also showed us that there are other ways to bring back a dead character. Perhaps like Quaritch (Stephen Lang), his memories have been saved and can now be loaded into an avatar? So there are definitely ways we can continue to see Scoresby.
“avatar 3is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2024. Not only do the well-known characters Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), Ney’tiri (Zoe Saldana), Kiri (Sigourney Weaver) and Ronal (Kate Winslet) return, many new characters are also introduced. Thus, a completely new Pandora race is introduced with the fire Na’vi living in a volcanic landscape – and it’s one where Jake and Co. not be kind to. Because with them we see really bad Na’vi for the first time. James Cameron wants to show that just like the people of Earth, there are good and evil among the Na’vi on Pandora.
