Marvel and credits: Ever since “Iron Man,” these just belonged together as superheroes and dad complexes. But there are also MCU movies like “Avengers: Endgame” that have no or no actual post-credits scene – and “Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever” is one of them, which has been on the air since February 1, 2023. Disney+ can be streamed. But why is it so?
To answer this question, we have to go back a bit. First of all, there’s a kind of credits scene, but really it’s just a slightly longer version of the closing scene from “Black Panther 2”: Towards the end of the film, main character Shuri (Letitia Wright) has finally accepted the death of her brother T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) and symbolically begins the healing process by burning her mourning clothes.

Then, in the mid-credits scene (i.e. a scene that begins after the first part of the credits), she is joined around the campfire by Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) – and Toussaint aka Prince T’Challa (Divine Love Konadu- ). Sun), the son of Nakia and T’Challa Senior. We’ve already summarized everything important about Touissant and his possible future role in the MCU elsewhere:
But why is there nothing at the very end of the credits scene more? Producer Nate Moore said that before the movie came out, and it’s the same reason the mid-credits scene is just an extended ending: It just wouldn’t fit the ending of this emotional, grieving superhero drama.
“Given the subject matter of the film, it just didn’t feel right to have a surprise at the end”Moore explained to the movie magazine . Many fans had been hoping for an appearance from Marvel villain Doctor Doom. “Like ‘Avengers: Endgame’ was such an emotional experience that there was no need for a surprise at the end. We just wanted to tell the story as it was envisioned, with no bonus at the end.”
And honestly: the author of this article can at least agree with the Marvel producer and the others responsible for “Wakanda Forever” – a mid-credit appearance of a new character as in “Thor 4” or “Doctor Strange 2would have felt as strange a post-credits stunt as a bouncer on Black Panther 2.
And if you watch the credits all the way to the end, you can still look forward to a message at the end: “Black Panther Will Return”. The only question left is who will slip into the black dress in a “Black Panther 3″…
