“Episode 3 of #TheLastofUs broke me emotionally” – This is how fans react to the series

The Last of Us tells the story of smuggler Joel (played by Pedro Pascal) and 14-year-old Ellie (played by Bella Ramsey) who struggle to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. Joel must smuggle Ellie out of a heavily guarded quarantine zone and travel across the country with her. This adventure is set in the year 2033, 20 years after a mushroom mutation has already turned more than half of humanity into monsters.

The series is based on the video game of the same name released for the PlayStation in 2013. In just two weeks, the game has sold more than 4.3 million copies. And the newly released series is also a hit. In the US alone, the first episode had 22 million viewers, making it HBO’s second biggest series launch after “House of the Dragon”.

The reviews of the series are also positive. On the Rotten Tomatoes rating platform, the series receives a 96 percent rating from critics and 94 out of 100 percent from viewers.

After the second episode aired on January 23, the makers already announced the next season. Further information about the second season is not yet known.

In the third episode, the series deviates from the story in the game for the first time: little action, but a lot of emotions. Although the main characters are Joel and Ellie, this episode is mainly about the love story between Bill (played by Nick Offerman) and Frank (played by Murray Bartlett). And it is precisely this story that inspires and moves viewers to tears:
