The first teaser trailer, shown at the Disney D23 trade show in September 2022, left fans eager for the new series, which actually looks very faithful to the original. Now there’s cast growth which looks pretty interesting too. how reported, will Lance Reddickbest known for his roles in The Wire and John Wick, plays Zeus, father of the gods and god of the sky, in Percy Jackson.
Also new on board: “Alex Rider” star Toby Stephenswho will play Poseidon, god of the sea and thus the father of Percy Jackson (played by Walker Scobell).

Percy Jackson (Scobell) is really just a normal boy until he discovers at the age of twelve that the sea god Poseidon (Stephens) is his father. This makes Percy a demigod and has powers that he must first learn to use. When Zeus (Reddick) accuses him of stealing his master bolt, Percy must face his fate and embark on the adventure of a lifetime with the help of his friends Grover (Aryan Simhadri) and Annabeth (Leah Jeffries).
The series creators describe Zeus as stormy, suspicious and all-powerful. Nor does he avoid war if he doesn’t get his thunderbolt back. Poseidon, on the other hand, is described as sincere. Although he never got to spend time with his son Percy, he is full of love for him. He also passed on his stubbornness, impulsiveness and loyalty to his son.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians is expected to be completed in early 2024 and then released on Disney+.
