Tom Bombadil: Anyone who has read The Lord of the Rings books knows that there is a very iconic and famous character who, much to the chagrin of some fans, starred in the hugely popular The Lord of the Rings movies directed by Peter Jackson, does not appear . But perhaps the much more controversial Middle-earth series could “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of PowerNow take care of Tom Bombadil’s first live-action performance At least that’s what current rumors say.
As always, such reports should be viewed with some caution, but in this case there are several parallel reports, all of which come from the circle of the renowned ‘Lord of the Rings’ fan sites and come. We are therefore initially inclined to believe the rumors.
But what kind of rumors are these really? reported on the one hand in the TORn Tuesday live stream from a source according to which an actor has been cast for Tom Bombadil and the character will appear in season 2. In addition, the character is addressed as “Tom” in dialogue during filming.
At the same time, one of the moderators of the TOR.net Discord channel also wrote on Twitter that Tom Bombadil was there and the character was released under the alias “Errol Pram”.. A similar approach was taken in Season 1, for example with Robert Aramayo (Beldor instead of Elrond), Markella Kavanagh (Tyra instead of Nori), and Joseph Mawle (Oren instead of Adar).

But who or what exactly Tom Bombadil is, JRR Tolkien has purposely never revealed. In The Lord of the Rings, Bombadil is described as a gentle man with a beardwho lives with his wife Goldberry and saves the hobbits twice at the start of their adventure.
And though Tom Bombadil has his kingdom in the Old Wood near the Shire and, according to Tolkien, is very reluctant to leave, it doesn’t seem impossible that he appears in “The Rings of Power”. Because the series takes place long before the events of the “Lord of the Rings” books. Thus, those responsible for the series could – as so often – use a hole in the Tolkien canon for their purposes and let Bombadil meet Nori and the stranger (Daniel Weyman) …
We’ll find out if this really happens when the second season of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” is released on Amazon Prime Video. We predict a release date sometime in 2024.
