“Emily In Paris” star as the next James Bond? This is behind the latest 007 rumours

Who will be the next James Bond? Since Daniel Craig’s last farewell appearance in “No Time to Die” at the latest, this question has been plaguing not only Bond fans and movie magazines around the world, but especially betting shops and tabloids. The British tabloid press, in particular, seems to be popping up a new hot rumor every few weeks – and that’s the case again in early 2023.

Like the British newspaper namely reported is said to be the star of “Emily In Paris”. Lucien Laviscount be at the forefront of the race for the coveted spot as the next James Bond actor. Don’t worry: that doesn’t mean the next Bond will be French. Despite “Emily In Paris” and his French-sounding name, Laviscount is British.

According to the However, Laviscount would have landed on Bond boss Barbara Broccoli’s radar with his role in the popular Netflix series, in which he can be seen as a British banker since the second season.

A tabloid source is quoted as saying: “Lucien is a bull’s eye. He is a super talented actor, he is extremely good looking and has gained a lot of fans over the past 18 months through ‘Emily In Paris’. Bond bosses are already saying they can envision him in the 007 tuxedo and how smart and appropriate he would look in the role.

What is the rumor about?

Only his appearance on the eighth season of the reality show Celebrity Big Brother is said to be speak to Laviscountbecause Barbara Broccoli and Co. wouldn’t be particularly enthusiastic about it (in Germany, the format is known as “Celebrity Big Brother”).

But there’s something else that could speak to Lucien Laviscount as the next James Bond: his age. Laviscount was born in 1992 and is therefore currently 30 years old. “James Bond” producer Michael G. Wilson recently gave a clear rejection to all applicants under the age of 30:

At exactly 30 years old, Lavicount is at most the minimum age specified by Wilson, if you take his claim that the role “only works for someone over 30” quite literally, he’s even a tad too young. But on the one hand, it should be another two to three years before the next “James Bond” film is shot, and on the other hand, those responsible will certainly not draw the line so tightly.

It is especially important to them that the new 007 star believably embodies a James Bond who may be brand new as a double zero agent, but has already gained experience in his life, for example in the military.

Much more important is: In principle, all rumors and reports about the alleged 007 candidate should be treated with some caution, until those responsible make an official announcement – or one of the well-known trade journals reports about it. What we can assume is that the search is already underway (and there are also increasing rumors that candidates will soon come along for test shots, which are standard with every 007 search).
