A thriller highlight from Germany? In the first trailer of the Netflix series “Totenfrau”, an undertaker is looking for her husband’s killer

Brünhilde Blum (Anna Maria Mühe) is the “deceased woman” – she is an undertaker by profession and loves her job. She is also the devoted, affectionate mother of Tim (Lilian Rosskopf) and Nela (Emilia Pieske) and happily married to police officer Mark (Maximilian Kraus).

But then Blum’s equally perfect life in a Tyrolean ski area, not far from Innsbruck, suddenly comes completely apart. Because before their eyes, Mark and his motorcycle are hit and killed by an approaching car. The stranger behind the wheel commits a collision.

Soon after, the distraught widow accidentally learns that Mark’s death was apparently not an accident. Apparently some influential people wanted him out of the way. The woman, marked by anger and grief, tries to find out what and especially who is behind the case, while revenge bubbles up in her. But what will she do when she gets her hands on her husband’s killers?

In Austria, the six-part film, shot in Tyrol and Vienna, has already been shown with great success on public television. In Germany and the rest of the world, “Totenfrau” will now launch exclusively on January 5, 2023 Netflix.

Revenge thriller from Austria

After “Freud”, this is the second collaboration between the state broadcaster ORF and the streaming service. All episodes were staged by “Tatort” and “Der Prag-Krimi” director Nicolai Rohde.
