Blick and Switzerland Tourism are looking for the most beautiful ski areas of this year’s winter season and are awarding Blick Winter Awards in six categories. Each ski area in Switzerland had the opportunity to register for a maximum of two of the six categories. You decide who will win!
We’re looking for a winning ski area in the “cross-country skiing” category, with the most beautiful, snowiest or most beautiful cross country trails.
The following ski areas have applied for the Blick Winter Award in the “cross-country skiing” category. We present them here in alphabetical order. Vote for your favorite now on www.winterawards.ch!
Aeschi / Aeschiried, Canton of Solothurn
In snowy winters, the network of trails stretches from the Aeschi down to Obersuld. The trail runs in loops across open terrain from Aeschi to Seewenegg and Aeschiried. You can always admire the beautiful view of Lake Thun and Kandertal.
Davos Klosters, Canton of Graubünden
It is the “home base” of Dario Cologna, the Swiss cross-country skiing base and the location of the “Davos Nordic” World Cup. Even amateurs feel at home on the 100 km classic and 75 km skating tracks. Thanks to snow farming, the season starts at the end of October: Blick cross-country ski fun camp with 2,500 cross-country skiers boasts free trail use for all, special dog trails, a winter guest program with cross-country skiing activities, cross-country ski hotels, Scandinavian guides and free waxing services.
Goms, Canton of Valais
Twelve routes and more than 100 kilometers of cross-country trails await you at Goms. Athletes, amateur athletes and experts, whether for classic style or skating, will find excellently groomed and snow-covered cross-country trails throughout the high valley from Oberwald to Niederwald.
Langis / Mount Faith, Canton of Obwalden
Cross-country skiers’ Eldorado is located in Langis, down the Faith Mountain Pass in the canton of Obwalden. In a beautiful, idyllic, dreamy high valley at 1444m above sea level. There are approximately 50 kilometers of trails around M.
Finsterwald-Entlebuch cross country ski trail, Canton of Lucerne
Set on an imposing mountain backdrop in the sunny Finsterwald, passing Schimbrig and Risetestock, the trails pass through sections of forest and steppe in the middle of the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch. They consist of three parts: Nesselbrunnenboden, Metteli and Wissensegg.
Unterschächen cross country ski track, Canton of Uri
The 6.5km cross-country track, both classic and prepared for skating, has a lot to offer: the tough, bumpy part invites you to do endurance training, while the flatter parts allow you to improve your technique.
