Remove tar stains with these 8 home remedies

Tea not only tastes good, but many varieties are also very healthy. Hot drinks are popular, especially in the cold season, and people drink a lot of them. However, if luxury foods are left in glasses, glasses or pots for longer periods of time, unsightly residues may form on the bottoms and rims of the containers. The more calcareous the water, the faster the discoloration will occur. Black tea in particular causes such deposits. Usually these cannot be removed by hand washing or in the dishwasher.

However, there are some home remedies that can be used to remove tar stains without much effort. With the eight tips and tricks below, your favorite mug will be looking like new again in no time.

1. Salt

A substance that can be found in every home and can be used to rub glasses and similar things is salt. If you put a little on a sponge moistened with warm water, you can use it to gently rub dishes on the affected areas. As always, the more delicate the material, the more careful you must be when cleaning it.

2. Lemon

Lemon juice is known to be an effective cleaning agent and can also be used to remove tea stains. The best way to do this is to fill the dirty container with warm water and add a few drops of citric acid. For larger pots, the juice of half a lemon is required.

Leave the water and lemon mixture to act for a few hours. Then the liquid is poured and the dishes are cleaned with dish soap and a sponge. The tar edges should now be easy to remove. If particularly stubborn spots remain visible, you can repeat the process.

3. Scrubbing milk

For dark spots on dishes, rubbing milk can also be helpful. A few drops on a sponge are all it takes to get rid of most tar stains. However, since this cleaning agent consists of fine rock flour, you should not apply too much pressure during cleaning in order not to damage the surface of glasses or pots.

4. Cleaning tablets for braces and dentures

In fact, tablets for cleaning braces and dentures can also remove the edges of the tea. All you have to do is fill the dirty container with water and put a tablet in it. After about two to three hours, the discoloration should have disappeared.

5. Dishwasher tabs

Tablets for dishwashers are similar to denture cleaning tablets. However, half a tablet placed in a container filled with warm water is sufficient. After about half a day, the tea residue should have disappeared or can be easily removed with the soft side of a sponge.

6. Baking soda

Baking soda can be found in almost every home. If you mix baking soda with water in a 1:1 ratio, you can apply the resulting paste directly to the discoloration of previously warm-washed pots or pans. Leave it there for a few minutes and then remove the baking soda mixture with a sponge.

If residues still remain, you can soak the affected dishes with water overnight and sprinkle some baking soda in the liquid. The next morning, the tarry edges will be easy to wipe off.

7. Baking soda

If you don’t have baking powder, you can also use baking powder. For this you have to proceed in the same way with baking soda and then you should get sparkling clean plates.

8. Infused fruit tea bag

Another practical home remedy that reduces or completely removes tar traces in case of light soiling is pre-brewed fruit tea bags. These contain acid which can remove discoloration. Rub the cooled tea bag on the affected areas several times, this will gradually make them lighter.
