Christmas season is just around the corner. Traditionally we decorate with red and green hues and beautiful fairy lights. But this winter, Christmas trends are giving new impetus. We rely on oriental decoration, exoticism and animal motifs instead of traditional motifs. These are the Christmas trends for 2022.
oriental christmas
Illuminated lanterns and colorful glasses: Far Eastern furniture is on trend this winter. These can be easily combined with the usual decoration in the living room. Oriental Christmas tree balls and candlesticks create a Christmas atmosphere in the living room.
Typical of this style are decorative pieces in gold, such as candle holders. Small and large lanterns with oriental shapes and patterns create coziness and fill the room with warm light. You can make your own lanterns from old jam jars. For this you will need a gold spray paint and a stencil. You can cut them out of paper yourself. Using the stencil, spray the gold spray onto the glass, let it dry, attach the tea light and you’re done!
Exotic and animal motifs
Feathers, wild colors and eucalyptus – another trend this year is Christmas decorations with exotic animal motifs and patterns. Colorfully feathered canaries, colorful insects, butterflies and even sea creatures fill our living room with a special Christmas spirit. Instead of a traditional Christmas wreath made of fir, you can make a wreath of eucalyptus and decorate it with colorful feathers, flowers and animal figures.
Circus at the Christmas tree
This year Christmas decorations are inspired by the circus. The fun Christmas decorations are characterized by shimmering accents, colorful and black and white patterns, and circus motifs. You hang small figures of circus trainers, monkeys or elephants from the tree. This turns the Christmas tree into a circus ring.
cold tones
White, silvery and often light hues create a real winter wonderland at home this year! There are lots of ornaments in shimmering silver tones and lots of glitter in the shops. Or you can make your own winter decorations: cut snowflakes out of white paper and tie them together to create a wreath, or spray or paint the pinecones you’ve gathered.
