It is said that nothing can shock New Yorkers. Apparently, those responsible for the latest Netflix hit series “Wednesday” wanted to put this to the test and unleashed the most unusual member of the Addams Family on the big city dwellers in a marketing or in this case MarkeTHING campaign.
The severed but highly mobile hand named Ice Cold Hand (originally Thing T. Thing) walks the streets of New York in this video released by Netflix. The creepy crawler also proves its versatility, showing off its skills at skateboarding, playing chess, handling animals and even riding the New York City Subway. You can watch the video here:
Victor Dorobantu has a “talent” for acting
The reactions of the unsuspecting passers-by are quite entertaining and varied, ranging from happy and shocked to disgusted and shocked. When a toddler in a stroller cries out loud at the sight of the creepy crawling hand, you know the show’s special effects team has done something right. Hopefully the “Icy Hand” had a handkerchief handy to comfort the poor thing.
And honestly, who wouldn’t look shocked if a severed hand suddenly walked across the counter while buying a hot dog? Is it actually still a matter of hygiene?
Incidentally, in “Wednesday” the unconventional hand fell on the actor Victor Dorobantu “embodied”who also repeatedly shares exciting behind-the-scenes photos with his followers on his Instagram account — as well as showing how the crawling creature was brought to life.
And that’s what “Wednesday” is all about
If you haven’t heard of “Wednesday,” here’s a little help to get you started: The Netflix series is a spin-off of the “Addams Family.” The focus of the new series is Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega), the cold-hearted scion of the creepy family.
That must dare to make a new start at the Nevermore Academy, a school for students with ‘special’ talents. At the same time, the city is rocked by a series of brutal murders. Wednesday tries to track down the culprit and discovers an old family secret that seems to involve her parents (Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán) as well…
