Today on TV: A gripping epic with great effects – from the director of “Sieben”!

That David Fincher is an incredibly versatile director actually becomes very clear when you compare “Seven” and “Zodiac – The Killer’s Trail”. However, the thematic relationship is still so evident here that it takes a movie like “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” to make sense of David Fincher’s staging and narrative versatility.

With a budget of $150 million, David Fincher was able to create the short story of the same name by F. Scott Fitzgerald and stage exactly what seems hardly in demand these days: a classic Hollywood epic, elaborate and emotional. In the end, ‘The Strange Case of Benjamin Button’, which can be seen today, December 4 at 8:15 PM on RTL 2, won three Oscars (production design, make-up, effects). Alternatively, you can also get the movie on Blu-ray and DVD:
