Ironically, another Pixar movie reveals that the Incredibles died right after Part 2

For years, fans have speculated that all Pixar movies are set in one universe (sort of like Marvel). It has now been officially confirmed that this is almost the case. But besides the many Easter eggs you can discover with this knowledge, there can also be a downside. Then if you think this one-universe theory to the end, you must realize: “Coco‘ revealed to us that the ‘The incredibles“-Parr family is dead – and the quintet probably died almost right after the end of “The incredible things 2“.

As you know, Pixar’s 2017 “Coco” is set in the realm of the dead. And in one scene there is a poster of the Parr family. The special thing about it: everyone looks exactly like in “The Incredibles 2”, are the age they are in this film’s narration. and we know from “Coco”: In the realm of the dead, everyone keeps the look they died with. Ergo: the Parr family must have died quite shortly after the events of “The Incredibles 2”.

By the way, you can stream both “Coco” and “The Incredibles” movies on Disney+. All other Pixar titles are also available there. But of course fans must have another question on their tongue: will there really ever be “The Incredibles 3”?

After the mega hit “The Incredibles 2”: “The Incredibles 3” is really never coming?

The Incredibles 2 grossed over $1.2 billion at the global box office in 2018. In the US, it even became the highest-grossing animated film of all time to date, grossing more than $608 million. The Pixar sequel ranks 20th worldwide in the ranking of the most successful films of all time. It is actually quite impossible that Pixar and especially parent company Disney do not think seriously and very intensively about a possible sequel.

And that’s why we know for sure: with this thought process you are not at all limited by a poster in “Coco”. If Pixar and Disney want to make The Incredibles 3 one day, they will – and dismiss the poster as a pure Easter egg. After all, it’s mostly the traditional Easter egg that’s usually used in one Pixar movie to promote the next.

Incidentally, even arguing that the death of the Parr family is now Pixar canon wouldn’t prevent The Incredibles 3 from happening. Another movie could also play right after the events of “The Incredibles 2” or be a prequel i.e. a prequel. This is all still in the future. The next Pixar film is much more concrete: ‘Elemental’ will hit theaters on June 15, 2023. On the occasion of the recently released first trailer, we spoke to director Peter Sohn about his new work.
