“How can I deal with jealousy? And how can I find more self-love?”
“Love in the 21st Century” listener Andreas posted this question. “We have a lot of unpleasant feelings – jealousy, envy, insecurity,” says podcast host Charlotte Theile. “The first step is to accept that they are still there.”
According to Thomas Meyer, jealousy is not actually an emotion, but a symptom of one’s fear of not being good enough or being abandoned. The author says that very jealous people often have negative experiences that increase their distrust in relationships.
How can we deal with – or even overcome – jealousy? How do we learn to be kinder to ourselves and turn down the inner critic? That’s what this interlude of “Love in the 21st Century” is about.
