From the Tomb Raider director, 300 and Watchmen masterminds comes a whole load of fantasy action on Netflix

There are a number of new titles on Netflix at the beginning of the month. True crime fans are looking forward to the documentary “The Masked Fraud”, and after the third season was a huge hit in late 2021, some should also tune in to the fourth season of “SWAT”. But for now, let’s focus on two fantasy action movies that are available to stream from Netflix starting today.

“Troll”: A Brand New Netflix Original

Fresh and exclusive to Netflix is”trollfrom Tomb Raider director Roar Uthaug. After his Hollywood stint with the video game adaptation, he returned to his native Norway to realize an idea he had been carrying for two decades.

In “Troll” something gigantic comes out of the mountains – and it’s not King Kong, as joked at first. Because a troll, awakened by an explosion and actually slumbering peacefully for thousands of years, sets sail for the capital Oslo. And along the way he tramples everything that stands in his way. How can he be stopped?

“Sucker Punch”: Zack Snyder super stylish again

And then we also have the film “sucker Punch” from Zak Snyder – and even though the fantasy action spectacle is eleven years old, it’s still a super stylish treat.

In the 1960s, teenage girl Babydoll (Emily Browning) is placed in a psychiatric ward. When lecherous director Blue Jones (Oscar Isaac) wants to get her lobotomy, she plans an escape with her companions Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish), Rocket (Jena Malone), Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens) and Amber (Jamie Chung). She flees to a dream world where she doesn’t fight against life in this sadistic prison, but against soldiers, samurai and even dragons, with brute weaponry and extraordinary skills.

Find out what else awaits you on Netflix in December in the streaming service’s official monthly preview. Many high-profile titles include the Knives Out sequel Glass Onion, Guillermo del Toros Pinocchio, a spin-off of The Witcher, and new seasons of shows like Emily In Paris, Alice In Borderland” and “Always there for you”.
