We’re talking about ‘Red Shirt’, a spy thriller for which Paramount, Universal, Netflix and Sony, among others, have fought a fierce bidding war to win the rights for themselves. As Now reported exclusively, Amazon Studios ultimately prevailed. This does not mean that the film will appear directly in the Amazon Prime Video subscription (such as “The Tomorrow War”). “Red Shirt” could also get a theatrical release for now.
Plot details are still being kept secret. However, it must become an international spy thriller, which is reflected in this year’s edition, for example.The gray manon Netflix. Channing Tatum (“The Lost City”) will star. The director’s choice is also interesting, as “Red Shirt” is directed by David Leitch. The former stuntman made his name as a filmmaker with ‘John Wick’, which he co-directed with Chad Stahelski. The idea of ”Red Shirt” also came from a not unknown person: Simon Kinberg. He is not only active as a screenwriter (including in the “X-Men” series since “The Last Resistance”), but this year he already showed his love for the versatile with “The 355”, which he wrote and directed Spy genre proven. It is not yet clear whether Simon Kinberg will also write the script for “Red Shirt”. In any case, he produces the thriller together with David Leitch and Channing Tatum.
