Donate 40,000 francs for the mountains

Blick and Ochsner Sport ran the “26 Summits” marching campaign for the third time from May to October. This year, too, thousands of participants had one goal: to climb 26 peaks, one in each canton, and thus win the challenge! At each peak you can scan a code, collect points and rise in the ranking.

Avid hikers didn’t need to be told twice. This year, our participants walked a total of 195,079 kilometers and conquered 11,473,600 meters of altitude. Congratulations!

hiking for nature

Everyone who took part in the trekking challenge not only won great prizes but also helped nature. Blick and Ochsner Sport donate one franc each to Pro Natura for each summit screening by registered participants. A total of 40,000 Swiss Francs were donated for the Swiss mountains.

“26 We are pleased that the third edition of the Summit has been so successful and that many people are marching this year. “Of course it’s even more pleasing that 40,000 francs have been raised and we can support the Swiss mountains together,” says Marco Greco, Head of Marketing for Ochsner Sport.

Thanks to OCHSNER SPORT and Blick for their donations that benefit nature as well as hikers. Nature, our livelihood, is also under serious threat in the Alps. “We all have to work to protect them – on every walk, in every garden and every vote,” says Urs Tester, Head of Biotopes and Species at Pro Natura.

Most Popular Summit

For many hikers, the campaign was an ideal opportunity to explore corners of Switzerland they had never been to, or to revisit their personal favorite peaks.

This year, hikers were particularly impressed by Moléson in the canton of Friborg – the most visited of this year’s “26 Summits” with code 1207. No wonder, because the endless views of the Freiburg Alps are definitely worth the trip. When visitors reach the top, they can watch shepherds making cheese according to ancient traditions.

Get to know all of Switzerland

Ulrike Först (60) is a big hiking enthusiast and has already attended “26 Summits” for the third time. “We only managed 14 routes in the first year, but then I got hiking fever!” she gets excited. He climbed all 26 of the Challenge’s summits this year. In the meantime, Först says he also enjoys going for challenging walks. “Two years ago I wouldn’t have believed it.”

This year, Först learned that a hike on the summit in the canton of Valais doesn’t always go as planned. “The last cable car down to the valley had already left, and I had to hurry to reach Bettmeralp before evening.” Rewarded with a wonderful sunset reflecting on the Bettmeralpsee. And so, despite the difficulties, the walk was the best experience for hiking enthusiasts within the scope of “26 Summits”.
