Like the magazine reported, became a second credits scene for “Black Adam‘ was filmed, which would have told us that Doctor Fate has a future in the DC Universe.
As is well known, the version of Doctor Fate played by Pierce Brosnan sacrifices itself in the course of the events in “Black Adam”. But Doctor Fate’s helmet still plays a role after that. Hawkman (Aldis Hodge) uses it. Eventually the helmet dissolves.
A new Doctor Fate needs to be announced
However, the end credits scene still has to show the helmet again. According to the description of lay in the sand somewhere. A hand then slowly reached into the image and grabbed the helmet. Before we see who that is, the scene would be over.

This scene would have told us there would still be a Doctor Fate. At the same time, the person would have remained completely open, so that DC would have kept all options open for the future – especially in terms of casting, but also with a possible return.
Will we see more of Doctor Fate?
Even without the credits scene, we can still see more of Doctor Fate. In the comics, a wide variety of characters take on the superhero coat or helmet, in addition to Kent Nelson, now embodied by Pierce Brosnan in “Black Adam”. It seems quite possible that DC will show us another incarnation in the future…
…but also to bring back Pierce Brosnan. After all, his portrayal of Doctor Fate is one of the (few) strong points of “Black Adam”. Director Jaume Collet-Serra didn’t want to rule out a return: He compared Doctor Fate to Obi-Wan Kenobi. He died in the first “Star Wars” movie and always returned after that. Brosnan also stated that the door is open to a return from his side.
But why was the credits scene removed?
There is no official statement about the second end credits scene yet. It is therefore only possible to speculate as to why it was removed. But one assumption is obvious: as is well known, Henry Cavill’s cameo as Superman was made at the very last second in the opening credits scene. Possibly they wanted to leave the audience out of the film with this climax and they already knew that another end credits scene would be lost. So they were immediately left out.
“Black Adam” is currently in German cinemas.
